Dental Cleaning In Bellflower, CA

Yellow, yellow, dirty fellow, and so we have heard! A bad breath with yellow, stained, discolored, or food-stuck teeth would repel people from you faster than the speed of lightning because your smile can make or break your personality. Dirty teeth can hinder your smile and compromise your aesthetics, not to mention the painful dental problems they will cause you. Hence, it is crucial to get professional dental cleaning from a dentist or a dental hygienist to resolve your dental issues. Put your best and bright smile forward!

Scaling and Polishing

A smile is the happiness that you will find right under your nose! You can be really good at oral hygiene maintenance with proper brushing and flossing, yet your teeth still appear yellow, the breath does not feel right, or there is a thick layer of tartar forming on the bottom surface of your teeth. Why? Because you are missing the professional dental cleaning that goes by the name of “scaling and polishing” in the world of dentistry. People often seek shortcuts to clean and brighten their teeth at home. For example, some tend to apply baking soda while others try to rub the banana peels on their teeth to make them appear shiny and glossy. Well, let me break this to you; such home remedies can harm your teeth severely instead of cleaning them. If you want clean teeth, you need to go to a dentist or a dental hygienist.

Why Do You Need a Dental Cleaning?

Over time, improper brushing and cleaning of the oral cavity can lead to a creamy soft, slimy layer (plaque) that makes a home on the surface (especially inside) of your teeth. In addition, poor oral hygiene leads to the formation of a rock-solid yellowish layer (calculus), leading to a plethora of dental problems (because these layers contain many bacteria) such as gum diseases, tooth decay, bad breath/halitosis, and other health issues. Whether you suffer from any enlisted issues or not, it is highly recommended to get professional dental cleaning done at least twice yearly.

Foul breath (halitosis)
Yellow, stained teeth
Bleeding from gums
Swollen gums
Mobile teeth
Braces that make brushing difficult

A Step-By-Step Guide

Get them cleaned; because teeth are always in fashion! Where there are people, there are myths. From giving birth to going to the office or getting a dental treatment, you are surrounded by them everywhere. The biggest myth about dental cleaning or scaling is that it makes your teeth weak and mobile. This is such a big lie, a lie that can ruin your teeth and smile! Dental cleaning is crucial to maintain the teeth in a healthy state to stand strong and firm while sparkling when you smile. Here is a step-by-step guide into a dental cleaning procedure so that you will know better than trusting such myths.

*Dental cleaning performed by a professional is referred to as scaling and polishing.
*After a thorough clinical and sometimes radiographic examination, the process begins.
*The plaque/calculus is removed using ultrasonic scalers that break the calculus.
*Following the removal of calculus, the surface of teeth is smoothened using a rubber cup on the surface teeth after applying a tooth-friendly and fluoride-rich material, what we call polishing.
*Voila! You have a brighter and beautiful smile than ever.

Is Dental Cleaning Different from Teeth Whitening?

Whiten your teeth to brighten your smile! Dental cleaning is different from teeth whitening. During scaling and polishing (dental cleaning), the teeth are cleaned and then smoothened, while during teeth whitening, the teeth are bleached for a lighter and whiter appearance instead of dental cleaning. At the time, dental cleaning and teeth whitening go hand in hand for perfect results.

Is Dental Cleaning Painful?

No pain, no gain, and so we have heard, but not with a dental cleaning. Dental cleaning offers the least or no discomfort and pain at all. The only thing that agitates the patient is the buzzing of the cleaning instruments (scalers) and sensitivity that follows the treatment but resolves in no time with proper hygiene maintenance. Always remember dental treatments are only painful and expensive when the patient has neglected oral hygiene for too long, which has led to several dental problems harboring in the mouth. To avoid pain, it is best to visit a dentist’s office regularly.

Are There Any Benefits To Dental Cleaning?

Shiny and healthy teeth, a confident you! Regular dental cleaning helps you maintain good oral hygiene and saves your mouth from several dental problems. Good oral health is key to good overall health, and we all know health is wealth. Here are a few perks of dental cleaning:

*Clean, smooth, and shiny teeth
*No more gum bleeding issues
*No more sore and swollen gums
*Dental problems at bay
*Optimum oral hygiene
*Fresh breath
*Bright and confident smile

How Often is Dental Cleaning Needed?

It is recommended to get dental cleaning done after every six months. Although you clean your teeth, you can never know when the plaque invisible to the naked eye starts to build up in the nooks and corners inaccessible to the standard toothbrushes. However, suppose you are undergoing some dental treatment such as braces or prone to dental problems (such as gingivitis and periodontitis). In that case, you may need it as often as three to four times a year. Where your brush cannot reach, there can be some breach!

Dental Cleaning In a Nutshell

Better teeth, a better smile, better life! A healthy smile can liven up your day and add more confidence to your personality and life. Thus, it is crucial to never compromise on dental cleaning because a healthy smile is a sign of healthy teeth and a healthy body too! Let the dentist take care of your teeth in the dental clinic, so your teeth can take care of you everywhere.

Great customer service and attentive staff! My 3 year old enjoyed his visit! Yes, I said he enjoyed it! He had to have X-rays done, and I was so worried that he wasn't gonna be a happy camper but the X-ray tech, Dominique, is so good with kids! The X-rays were fast and painless! I love this dental office! I have been coming here for years. It is a one-stop-shop! You can get your x-rays, cleaning, braces, labs, dentures, toothbrushes, and more all right here. They offer a movie room, 15 minute massages, child care, coffee, tea, and snacks! The weekends included face painting and balloon art for the kids. The staff is great, and they try to work with you if you need a payment plan. I think most insurance carriers are accepted. Never had any issues with any of the work done here!
